Passenger park light is out

I just got a secondhand 2021 Venue about two weeks ago. I noticed yesterday that my passenger park light has totally gone out. I think the wires are fine so I just need to have the bulb replaced but I couldn't even remove it. Previous owner said I should just pull it out but that didn't work. I've tried twisting to both directions too and nothing.. I'm afraid to use more force and break it. I think it's a 1157 bulb and I have very limited experience with it. Does anyone know what's the best way to remove it and have it replaced? I honestly don't want to take this to the shop and spend dollars for something so "basic."

Hey with those bulbs , usually there's a little twist and pull method but sometimes the socket can be stuck. Try gently wiggling it while twisting. If it still wont budge, check if there’s a clip or tab holding it in place. If youre careful you should avoid damage. There are plenty of quick how to videos online for the Venue’s park light that might help too.

I ran into the same problem with my Venue. Here's a quick tip: it's not just the bulb you need to twist, you actually have to pull the whole light assembly out first. So pop the trunk take off the screws or clips that are holding the light in place and then gently pry the housing outwards (there are clips, so don't be afraid to use a little force)

After it's out twist the bulb socket about a quarter turn to release it. It might be a bit snug so using some firm pressure really helps. Then just swap in a new 1157 bulb (either incandescent or LED) put everything back together and give it a test before sealing it all up

Yeah, that bulb can be a pain the first time. I had to remove the whole housing like @SleekV3nue said. Once it's off, the socket twists right out. Don't worry about using a bit of muscle. You only needa go steady and you'll be fine.

Just a heads-up from my own experience, I got a used 2020 Kona recently and had trouble changing the rear tail light. Thought it'd be a quick bulb change, but it wouldn't budge. Before you yank on it, check for a small release tab on the socket. I missed mine at first, and you don't want to break anything
