My dad just bought a brand new hyundai venue (literally just been driving it for 2 months)

Then, idk how it happened, but the car took a rock flying at it and cracked the windshield

My dad came home pissed, but my mum (being the peace maker as always) feeling grateful bcs the rock didn't hit my dad

My question is, since it still has warranty, can the windshield get a free fix?

What do you think guys?

Windshield damage usually isn't covered under standard warranty though because it's considered wear and tear or accidental damage. But some dealers or manufacturers might offer special programs or goodwill repairs, and more likely if the car is new like yours

There are some insurances that cover this kind of damage, but you need to double check. Also, if it's a smaller crack see if it's fixable and I'm talking about a small crack, not a massive one.

If it was a rock hit, warranty likely won't cover it since it's accidental. But if your dad has comprehensive insurance, then... that's your best bet. I think there are policies that waive the deductible for glass repair, so it's definitely worth checking!

A friend of mine had his windshield crack during the winter when a big chunk of ice flew off a truck. The dealer told him that the warranty wouldn't cover it because it was considered road debris. So, he decided to call his insurance, and it turns out his comprehensive coverage took care of it with no deductible for glass repairs. It might be a good idea to check your own policy too,you might be surprised to find that it's included
